Source Document Scanning:
Source documents of any type can be converted to a manageable electronic format, i.e. business records, legal size, computer printouts, time cards, checks, or large format engineering
drawings. Documents are then indexed by keywords or file names so each document can easily be retrieved on demand.
Data Capture: Data is captured from source documents in two ways: Manual data entry or with automated OCR software. Double key verification assures accuracy rates as high as 99.9%.
Data Warehousing: Electronic documents can be stored in a variety of ways. Many organizations are requesting that the images are stored at the vendor’s site, while allowing users to access the data
via the Internet, thus saving time and money on supporting such a storage process internally.
Data Compression: In many cases, legal or financial obligations require a client to save records that are not vital to daily operations. When frequent access is not necessary, the converted source documents can be
compressed to alleviate electronic storage capacity concerns. |

Microfilm/Microfiche Scanning: As microfilm based document storage and retrieval systems are being replaced by digital imaging, many organizations are having their microfilm converted to digital images. This allows for
increased retrieval efficiencies and eliminates the need to purchase costly microfilm reader/printer equipment.
Digital to Microfilm Archiving:
There are specific document types that still require an analog backup. In this process, the digital images are captured onto microfilm for archiving purposes.
Tape and Data Conversion: As information technology continues to change, older media formats need to be converted to newer formats. Likewise, when changing
from one document imaging system to another, often times digital images must be converted.
COLD Processing: Computer data can be captured, indexed and stored on CDs, allowing for secure data storage and easy retrieval. COLD is
an automated, cost-effective way to handle large amounts of computer data.
Computer Output Microfiche (COM):
COM is similar to COLD except the output is microfiche.
